The WWU Associated Students Legal Information Center’s mission is to empower Western students, faculty, and community members with legal information so that they can solve their legal issues. The AS Legal Info Center believes that through the use of the LIC’s peer education, programs and events, and resources students will gain a better understanding of their legal rights and responsibilities and a greater degree of knowledge about the legal system in general.

The CCC works with AS Legal  to support and engage students living off campus. We collaborate on educating students about their rights and responsibilities as tenants and where they can go if they feel they need support. We also work together on creating a healthy and respectful relationship between students and law enforcement

The mission of the Whatcom County Prevention Coalition is to build safe and healthy communities by providing leadership, promoting prevention and building partnerships that mobilize youth, families, and neighborhoods to reduce substance abuse and other destructive behaviors among youth and the broader community.

The CCC works with WPC to create and distribute positive messages around community responsibility and respect. We are currently working to connect our area college student efforts around prevention with student-lead efforts from some of our community’s high school and middle schools.
